25

What a birthday! Thanks for all the emails, SMSes, gifts, calls and celebrations! Much appreciated...

It started with midnight tremours in my flat...
'Another earthquake in Sumatra?' I told my sis as she wondered if our HDB block was gonna collapse.

Not forgetting the early greetings from the ZGMites on Sunday at the Esplanade followed by family dinner at Shima restaurant... lovely!

Went for my overdue golf lesson at Mandai in the morning, before lunch with dad in Toa Payoh.

Was in the office all the way till 11pm- stupid S-League club decided to inform us of coach sacking only at 8pm... *growl*

But the day was good.

Derby Delight

What could be better than watching Liverpool beat Everton at an Everton fan's home eating his snacks & drinking his beverages?

Doing that together with three other Everton fans and five Liverpool fans!

Sheer bliss...

Synergised!

I wasn't that excited abt Synergiz... but I knew God wanted me to be there.

And He didn't let me down.

Stressed and fatigued by work,
I needed a fresh touch, a renewed zeal, a boost of passion, and a jolt of compassion for the lost.

Seeing the hordes of youth, some half my age, set on fire for Christ - that stirred up a fresh fire in me.

Lord, renew my mind and change my heart of stone... do what only You can do.
Give me that holy desire to pray and intercede, to feel and know Your heartbeat.
To walk as Enoch walked with You, to fulfill my destiny in Christ
In Jesus' name,
Amen

Star-struck by Natalie

I've always been a big natalie portman fan since I saw her in The Professional way back in the 90s.
And I must confess she's the reason I went to watch Closer.
I wasn't disappointed - she did a superb job balancing the confused teenager and the young adult woman in her role.
Completely took the shine off Julia Roberts.
Nice...

From a brother's blog...

“The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor.”

To humble ourselves and to fall tearily to the ground is not easy.
Gandhi has said that forgiveness is a virtue of the strong, for the weak can never forgive.

Likewise, only the strength of faith and character can allow us to fall at the feet of Jesus.
It's never about the magnitude of your problem but the strength of Him who is capable of sorting it out. Having total faith means we let go of ourselves and quit struggling under the weight of our problems.

I think God yearns to walk with us 'in the cool of the day' as he did with Adam in the Garden of Eden. He wants a relationship and that's impossible if there's something between us.

Falling on your knees is like hoisting your burdens off your shoulders. And reaching out to God's outstretched arm is like letting him pick the burden up for you, to hoist it on His shoulders.

And He will lift you up to your feet, and together we will walk in the cool of another war-torn day.

God's not a drug. He isn't trivial. He isn't a conjurer of cheap tricks. He can't be summoned - He has to be invited and sometimes it's just a joy when He turns up when you least expect Him to.

Our problems won't always fade once we get off the floor, but we will be strengthened beyond measure to know that He walks with us. Someone's said before that God made this world both beautiful and dangerous so that his children will grow up strong. I believe that's how it's supposed to be. I'm sure we're all struggling with something. Or something is weighing us down.

The solution isn't very far. It's between your knees and the floor.

The Mission

What was hatched in a TV room in Telok Kurau two weeks ago is set to take place in a few hours.
After numerous calls, smses, MSN conversations...

It's time... to unleash all our acting skills.

Hope everything turns out smoothly, and that she enjoys it!
