Joy Indescribable

The joy of seeing Chevy and CJ giving their baptism testimonies today cannot be fully expressed in words.

It's been less than a year since they joined Judah, and what a blessing they have been to us, and us to them.
The Lord's faithfulness and grace have been highly evident in their lives.

I remember the first time I met Chevy. It was at Raffles City food court with Shan.
And the first time I met CJ - it was in church.

Since then, it has been a rollercoaster ride. But I've enjoyed every moment working with them, praying alongside them, and serving them through the cell ministry.

Here's to the next phase of your Christian walk.

And may it be full of God's unfailing love, His grace, and neverending mercies.

Once bitten, twice shy

I remember Mich talking about a sea lion who attacked a kid, but how about this for a story.
It's way back from 1993...

A FORMER national shot put and discus champion was bitten on his testicles yesterday by a python hiding in a toilet bowl he was sitting on.
Mr Fok Keng Choy, 43, a supervisor at the Tanglin Golf Course in Napier Road, is recovering at Gleneagles Hospital after receiving stitches to close a surface wound, his wife said last night.
She said that he was relieving himself at the toilet near the course's booking office when he was bitten.
"Snakes are common there because of the bushes, but not in toilets," she said.
He was bleeding and in pain but managed to call for help.
Pest control experts later caught the 2 1/2-m-long python. She was told by doctors that the bite was not poisonous. It is not known what happened to the snake.
Mr Fok was a former national field events coach and was a shot put and discus record holder in the 1970s and 80s.

Singapore’s first ladies of comedy and satire, with their dulcet tones and "perky cups" as their theme song proclaims, will tackle The History of Singapore – before 1965…in 2 hours!

With original script and music written by Selena Tan and Elaine Chan, and directed by Glen Goei, The History of Singapore is set to be another rip-roaring rollercoaster of fun, with show-stopping tunes and poignant ballads at every turn.

But, of course, this is no ordinary history you would expect from the textbooks.
In true Dollies style, they will serve up somewhat familiar figures from the past but with a naughty, yet spot-on, twist. Included in the parade of characters this year are Super Samsui Women, Cheeky Kampong Beauties, Hot and Bothered Ah Ma Chehs, scheming Peranakan matriarchs and Hainanese chefs!

No one is spared the razor-sharp Dollies wit, not even Sang Nila Utama, Sir Stamford Raffles or the British Army during World War II.

How to get staff discount:
Present your SPH staff pass/namecard respectively to enjoy 20% discount off tickets at any SISTIC counter. There is no limit to the number of tickets each staff can purchase. Discount is not available online or via hotline booking.
