Just wondering...

In the same week, we mourned the passing of a great leader and unearthed some shocking T*mmy video clips from a phone.

I wonder - are our youths and yuppies more concerned with the former or the latter?

Funeral Service Class 101

The only thing certain in life is death.

It was in this light that we had a leaders' workshop on Sat.
The topic - funerals.

Morbid it may seem, but the session was light-hearted, practical and very enlightening.
My only regret was having to leave earlier to go to work.

Pastor Peter shared from his personal experience, cited some verses, and answered our questions.

Some insights I gained:
"The funeral service is for the living, not the dead."
"Always suggest, but leave the final decision to the family."
"Distinguish between cultural and religious differences. "
"Don't compromise."
"Be ready to serve and comfort the ones who show the most grief."
"Be with the family early so you can show concern and set the spiritual tone for the occasion."
"Identify the main decision maker of the family."

Man - U walked alone...

Finally, we did it. It took 85 long years.

What are the odds of Liverpool beating Man U in the FA Cup with a Peter Crouch header on Gary Neville's birthday and this blogger reporting it?

Now, I've witnessed a European Cup triumph after being 0-3 down, and a Pool win over Man U in the FA Cup - two events which may happen only once-a-lifetime.

Sweet.

Germany 2006

This blogger is Germany-bound - for the World Cup.

Got my leave settled. Booked my air ticket. Found my first night of accommodation.
And the most amazing thing happened.

I got a pair of match tickets from Fifa.
Yes. You heard me correctly.
And it's not for the South Korea-Togo match.
Rather it's for the third-place playoff.
And it was a steal - got the tickets at a 45% discount because they were obstructed view seats.
But I'm not complaining...

Now to settle car rental, and find more match tickets.

Come June 28, I'll be on a plane to Frankfurt.
But every time I close my eyes, I can already see the stadium lights and hear the fans chanting...

Then I open my eyes, find myself still in Singapore, and remind myself to start saving...
