Publicly Slammed

It's not every day that your article gets read out at a press conference and you get publicly slammed by a football coach.

But that happened to me last week.

The coach strolls into the room bearing my article and asks for my name.

He then proceeds to let everyone know what he thought about my story, and saying that I knew nothing about football.

I kept my cool - no point getting into an argument with an arrogant person.

Well, I stood by what I wrote - his team were outplayed by their opponents and I wrote it that way.

To cut the long story short, he was sacked two days later.
His team drew with Singapore, got knocked out of the tournament and he was fired the next day.

As one senior colleague once told a coach: "Don't be so yaya now. When you leave your job, I'll still be around to write your obituary."

Liverpool Creed

How about this for a fan oath?

"Liverpool's my religion, Fowler's my god.
You will never walk alone's my hymn of praise, and Anfield's my place of worship."

For me, God will always come before Liverpool.
It's difficult at times, but there's no two ways about it.

Double Rainbow Delight

It was a sight I'll remember for some time.
No, it was not the face of a pretty girl.
Rather, it was a double rainbow that greeted me at Choa Chu Kang Stadium on Jan 1 2007.
2006 ended rather hurriedly, with work, IPPT, last-min Christmas shopping, church celebration, parties and youth camp.
Thus, I was glad that 2007 began on a slower note - chilling out at home with relatives.
And when the evening came, I decided to go for a quiet jog.
The rain came, but my mood was not dampened. And I was rewarded with the above-mentioned sight.
Wow.
Too bad I didn't have any photographic device, so I had to settle for this pic I found on the Net, which was similar to what I saw.
Here's to a bright 2007 for all, full of double rainbows and delightful memories!
